Europol breaks up criminal group based in Spain, 30 arrested

Europol announces the dismantling of a structured criminal group whose activity was drug trafficking with a wide range from South America to Europe.

During the Europol action in 23 apartments in Spain, 30 suspects were arrested.

Investigators began investigating this case at the end of 2022, when 500 kilograms of cocaine were found in a truck.

The investigation revealed that a group of truck drivers, who worked for a freight transport company, were transporting drugs. 

This finding prompted the most detailed mobilization of the competent bodies, concluding in the dismantling of the entire criminal network, including its leader, the persons responsible for the distribution and logistics of the drugs and the money launderers.

The total value of seized assets is estimated at 40 million euros and 172,000 euros in cash, 10 vehicles, jewelry and luxury watches were also seized.
