Scary! 8 people get stuck in the cable car, the authorities try to rescue them

Eight people have been trapped in a cable car in northwestern Pakistan.

A military rescue is underway to save six children and two adults trapped..

The group was on its way to school when one of the cables snapped, leaving it dangling 274 meters above the ground, officials said.

The eight passengers were trapped for at least four hours before the first helicopter arrived, local media Daën reported.

Military helicopters and commandos have made repeated attempts to rescue the eight trapped people.

In addition to strong winds, the operation is being complicated by concerns that the helicopter's rotor blades could further destabilize the cable car's cabin, Shariq Riaz Khattak, a rescue official in the country, told Reuters news agency.
