Berlin calls on Iran not to get involved in the Hamas-Israel conflict

The German government today warned Iran not to get involved in the conflict between Hamas and Israel.

"Anyone playing with fire in this situation, throwing gasoline on the fire or lighting it in any other way, should think carefully. We advise you not to do this," said German Foreign Ministry spokesman Sebastian Fischer, referring to Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian's meeting Saturday in Qatar with Hamas leader Ismail Haniya.

More than 1,400 people have been killed in Israel since the attack began, while more than 2,700 people in Gaza have been killed in retaliatory attacks by Israel, which is also blocking fuel, water, food and medical supplies from entering the territory. ./ CNA
