The men in Dheisheh refugee camp in the West Bank spend most of their days and nights "glued" to their phones, smoking and constantly refreshing news feeds.
The men are among about 18,000 enclave residents who have Israeli work permits and are allowed to cross the border.
When the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) closed all access to Gaza after the deadly Hamas attack last Saturday, these men were trapped.
Their women and children are still in Khan Younis, a town in southern Gaza that is now the epicenter of the refugee crisis, and currently have no way out.
The Israeli military has relentlessly pounded Gaza with airstrikes and artillery after Hamas fighters staged a terror attack and fired thousands of rockets that have so far killed at least 1,400 people. The terrorist group also kidnapped around 150 others on October 7.
The Israeli military says its goal is to destroy Hamas and ensure it can never carry out such an attack again. On the other hand, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza said that 2,450 have been killed in the last eight days./ CNA
