The former special chief prosecutor is arrested

By order of the Special Prosecutor's Office of Montenegro, the former special chief prosecutor, Millivoje Katni?, and the former senior police officer, Zoran Llazovi?, were arrested on Sunday morning, the Special Prosecutor's Office of this country confirmed for Radio Free Europe.

"Katni? and Llazovi? have been deprived of their freedom due to the suspicion that they have committed the criminal acts of creating a criminal organization and misuse of official position", said the spokesman of the Special Prosecutor's Office, Vukas Radonji?.

He added that the arrests were made in cooperation with the European police agency, Europol.

"Raids of their homes and facilities in Podgorica, Cetina, Budva and Bijello Pole are continuing, to find traces of the criminal offense and things that may be useful for the procedure," said prosecutor Radonjic.

He also said that Katniq and Llazovic will be sent to the Special Prosecutor's Office to be interrogated within the legal deadline.
