US President Donald Trump has again threatened Iran in his latest reaction, regarding the timeline for reaching an agreement to open the Strait of Hormuz.

In his post on Truth Social, Trump states that if there is no deal by tonight, "an entire civilization will disappear tonight."

"An entire civilization will die tonight, never to return. I don't want it to happen, but it probably will. However, now that we have Complete and Total Regime Change, where different, smarter, and less radicalized minds prevail, maybe something wonderful revolutionary could happen, WHO KNOWS? We will find out tonight, one of the most important moments in the long and complex history of the World. 47 years of blackmail, corruption, and death, will finally come to an end. God bless the Great People of Iran!" Trump's post reads.

The US president earlier threatened to destroy Iran's power plants and other civilian infrastructure, saying the country would face severe consequences if it did not open the Strait of Hormuz by 8pm. /CNA
