13 years after freedom/ Haradinaj: A victory not only for me, but for the entire

AAK leader Ramush Haradinaj, through a post on social media, said that today marks the anniversary of his freedom.

In his reaction, Haradinaj states that after 13 years, he remembers the verdict of innocence as a victory for the entire liberation war.

The AAK leader says that his fight for truth has lasted as long as the fight for freedom.

Dear citizens,

Today I mark a day that always holds special significance for me, the anniversary of my freedom and the final sealing of the legitimacy of our liberation war.

On November 17, 2004, even though I was a freedom fighter in my own land, I was summoned for the first time by the Hague Tribunal. That day marked the beginning of a long legal journey, which lasted until November 29, 2012. Although I was found not guilty in the first trial, years later I was summoned for a retrial, to prove our truth once again.

Today, 13 years later, I remember that acquittal as a victory not only for me, but for our entire liberation struggle. My fight for truth lasted as long as the fight for freedom, and in both of these battles I emerged victorious.

In every step, in every decision and in every action of mine, I have taken care to bring only victory and honor to Kosovo. I have never wavered from this duty, neither in war nor in peace.
