Knife attack in Koridhalos prison/ Albanian prisoner killed

An Albanian prisoner serving a life sentence was murdered in his cell at Koridhalos prison in Greece.

The incident occurred on Monday afternoon and, according to Greek media, the Albanian was attacked with a knife by a Greek prisoner, receiving two wounds.

The victim had been sentenced to life imprisonment for a murder he had committed in 2002. While in prison, he had escaped and come to Albania, where he committed two more murders. He then returned to Greece, where he was arrested, serving the remainder of his sentence.

On the other hand, the perpetrator of the crime committed inside the prison is believed to be the suspected leader of the so-called Koridallos prison mafia, who has been convicted of murder. /CNA
