Today, after the next meeting of the Government, the two ministers of the "Rama" cabinet appeared in the media and trumpeted loudly that there will be a salary increase for the employees of the health service and for the employees of the pre-university education system.

So far so good, the salary increase is to be appreciated.

But how much is this increase?

Both health service workers and those in the pre-university system will receive a 6% salary increase.

But, it seems that the pear has its tail behind.

According to official figures, inflation in Albania ranges from 5.5 to 6%. It can be as low as 8%, but that doesn't really matter.

The fact is that salary increases have been made as much as inflation has increased.

Which means that there is no salary increase, but there is indexation.

So is there a 6% wage increase or just indexation as the increase is the same as inflation? 

The increase in prices in the market is equal to the increase that salaries will have, which were trumpeted more today after the meeting of the Government.

So, we are simply dealing with a governmental political scheme.

On the one hand, a simple indexation of wages is done, depending on the increase in inflation, and on the other hand, they come out and sell it to the media as a "wage increase". Fully 6%./ CNA.al
