A subject in the field of communication from Durrës has denounced a tender opened by the municipality of this city for firemen's radio.

"We are an activity that operates in the field of radio communication and electronic devices. On 13.06.2024, the Durrës Municipality issues a procurement for the purchase of several radios for the Durrës fire department," said the whistleblower.

"We practically participated and followed closely the classification order of the participants. We saw that we had qualified as a participant, but not as a winner. We were impressed as we are official distributors of a company that manufactures these types of radios. Personally, we noticed that the firefighters were equipped with some kind of radio after a month, and as experts in the field we proved that it had nothing to do with the procurement object," added the whistleblower.

In the technical specifications of the tender, the Municipality and the Durrës Firefighters company requested a radio with a "Men Down" system, which makes it possible to notify an employee when a colleague may be unconscious in an emergency situation.

Despite this request and although the Municipality of Durrës has conducted this tender twice in October 2023 and June 2024, the two winning companies do not have this option.
