Arriving more than 1 hour and 30 minutes late, the urban bus of the Train Station-TEG line has brought an overload of passengers and nervousness, which has been finalized with a mass protest and non-payment of tickets. The indignation stimulated by the screaming delay of the urban and the torturous waiting of travelers exhausted by the heat and fatigue at work, happened on Tuesday lunchtime when the "carriage" named "urban line" arrived at the Zoo station, in arrival from TEG.

It was precisely the travelers waiting at this station (mostly women and girls), who had just boarded and vented the indignation caused by the excessive waiting and the scandalous conditions of the bus. With the indignation of the women of the Zoo, the rest of the travelers were also in solidarity, as it seemed, they were waiting for the opportunity to explode from the excessive delay of the city, which is not sporadic but a daily behavior.

CNA has written before about the problems of this line, which for more than two years has been exercising the activity of urban transport without fulfilling any legal conditions. Both in the standard of the scandalous technical condition of the buses, as well as in the unfairness towards travelers that leaves them waiting abnormally at the stations.

This is a troublesome wait since most of the passengers of this line are employees who work in institutions and entities along this area. They have an official schedule that they must adhere to otherwise, if lateness becomes routine, they can be punished with dismissal. Which until today has not happened (shortening of hours due to delays yes), thanks to leaving up to 60 minutes before the arrival time of the urban at the station.

Even a single trip on the buses of this line would be enough to understand the scandalous quality offered by the management company of the "Train Station - TEG" line, with 7 buses that are never in normal working condition. But how is it possible that the scrappy fleet of buses without proper technical conditions, manages to pass the approval test?

How is it possible that the Public Transport Inspectorate near the City Hall sits and watches this public crime? How is it possible that although with a fleet of very worn out vehicles, which do not offer any human standards, the administrative company of the urban line "Train Station - Zoo - TEG", continues to be licensed by the responsible authority of the Municipality of Tirana, which ignores the crap that tortures travelers?

Why the Directorate of Road Traffic Transport, the Center for Registration and Licensing, the Agency for Consumer Protection and the Municipal Police remain indifferent to this screaming situation? What does their silence hide other than the beneficial interest?/ CNA
