Reconstruction only for VIPs/ Kanye West's concert "wakes up" the state for the forgotten road

World-famous American singer Kanye West will hold a concert on July 11 in Tirana. For this purpose, by order of the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports Blendi Gonxhe, a temporary stadium with a capacity of about 60 thousand spectators, designed specifically for this event, is being built near the Tirana-Durres axis. But that's not all!

The arrival of West has also served as a reason to urgently begin the reconstruction of the Mëzez-Yrshek road axis, along the area where the activity will take place. This segment has been in a completely dilapidated state for years and has caused great difficulties in vehicle circulation.

The works have been underway for several weeks and include asphalt rehabilitation, roadside improvements and infrastructure improvements along the entire segment. Due to the road being reconstructed, the area has also seen heavy vehicle traffic.

However, this accelerated investment has sparked much criticism and dissatisfaction among the residents of the area. Off-camera, they tell CNA that the institutions remembered this road only because the American singer and his followers will pass through it, ignoring the daily complaints of the community for years.
