Dozens of denunciations came throughout the year 2024 for the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj. Corruption, theft and abuse were the headlines of the denunciations addressed to the mayor Veliaj.

THE CANDIDATE OF 'G99' AND THE NGO OF XOXHA

CNA denounced the chain of NGOs with the aim of capturing Justice, at its highest levels. This was one of the denunciations about Veliaj. CNA found that the organizations, funded by Soros and controlled by Erion Veliaj, have not only served as money-making mechanisms for the Veliaj family. They have had an important role in capturing the justice system.

Veliaj's wife, Ajola Xoxa, through the "Benussi" institute, run by her, has organized activities and conferences for the reform of the Law, where frequent participants have been the President of the Supreme Court, Sokol Sadushi, the head of the School of Magistrates Arben Rakipi and other justice officials, who have been accused by the opposition of serving the government.

The capture or influence in the justice system has also been in the key sectors, those who have had the fate of vetting and the appointment of judges and prosecutors in their hands. Narueda Llagami, former President of the High Judicial Council, states in her CV that for several years she worked in the Association for the Integration of Informal Areas, controlled by Erion veliaj and Ajola Xoxa.

Involved in the network of organizations controlled or directed by Erion Veliaj, and Ajola Xoxa is Roland Ilia, who holds the position of Chairman of the Independent Qualification Commission, who has had in his hands the fate of hundreds of judges and prosecutors in the country. But not only that, there are many other names involved.

In 2015, the three organizations controlled by Erion Veliaj and Ajola Xoxa, Balkan Youth Link Albania, Benussi and SHIZI, along with several others, founded the Coalition for Free and Fair Elections, which monitored the 2015 local elections, where Erion Veliaj was elected mayor of Tirana.

BROTHER COMPANIES OF ERION VELIAJT IN AUSTRIA

Mayor Veliaj is also accused of enriching his family members. The mayor's brother, Arbër Veliaj, owns two companies in Austria, one in the field of advertising and the other in the field of investments.

The company "Gogel GmbH", which started its activity from October 28, 2021 onwards. This company, registered in Vienna, has as its field of main activity marketing and advertising. The second company, "Reg Investitions GmbH", in Austria, has the same address as the company "Gogel GmbH".

Arbër Veliaj in a short time bought a company turning it into the main advertising company in Albania, such as the "Gogel" company, having dozens of clients, who have been both Erion Veliaj's and Arbër Veliaj's customers, since most of they are beneficiaries of the firm of the mayor of Tirana or the institution that he leads and now SPAK is doing everything transparently to bring to an end the investigations related to the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, suspected of the charge of corruption, and family members related to him.

MONEY FROM VELIAJ TO AJOLA XOXA

The main voice in the denunciations of the mayor Erion Veliaj was the political leader of the DP for Tirana, Belind Kelliçi.

One of his denunciations, made during the protest in front of the Tirana Municipality, were the connections of the trinomial Erald Ismailaj-Ajola Xoxa-Erion Veliaj. Kelliçi said that the UKT employee, Erald Ismailaj, takes the money from Erion Veliaj and pays the mayor's wife Ajola Xoxa.

LUXURIOUS VETAL CLOTHES

EXPANSION OF VILLA S VELIAJT

The mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, owns a luxurious 3-storey villa in one of the most expensive areas of Tirana, at "Kodra e Diellit".

It is not known whether the mayor has a permit for the additions he made to the apartment.

LUXURY TOURS WITH DRIVERS

One of the denunciations about the mayor Erion Veliaj is his luxury trips. During the past year, journalist Klodiana Lala denounced that Veliaj and his directors have made expensive trips abroad.

"SPAK must explain to us where the money received from the tenders of the company "5D" went. Did directors Mariglen Qato, Redi Molla and Taulant Tusha travel with Erion Veliaj and other people abroad, expensive vacations. It is not just about business trips, but trips that are easily accessible in the TIMS system, are easily traceable to the expenses they have made in different countries. It results in a trip to Finland to see what expenses they have made there, what are the transfers, what are the contacts", the journalist denounced.

CORRUPTION BETWEEN ERION VELIAJT AND AJOLA XOXHA

The scandals of the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, have not stopped. CNA has denounced the scheme used by Ajola Xoxa, which went from companies with artistic activities to incinerators.

Veliaj's wife is paid 1,000 euros per month by "Harabel" for rent, through her account at the National Commercial Bank. But Ajola's connections don't end there, as the tentacles go all the way to Tirana's incinerator.

Ajola Xoxa connects with the incinerator company through her contemporary artist, Sislej Xhafa, whom she promotes at "Harabeli". Sislej Xhafa made a work called "Bee", which he donated to "Harabel" of Ajola, and "Bee" was installed as a work of art in the territory of the Tirana incinerator.

In the agreement, it is emphasized that for every communication there would be three, between the artist, the incinerator and "Harabel". So, the incinerator company of Tirana has financed "Harabel" of Ajola for the work of art "Bee".

This scheme clearly shows the connections of Ajola with the company "Harabel" and finally with the incinerator of Tirana through its artists.

APPOINTMENT OF DIRECTORS

A strong denunciation was that of MP Flamur Noka in the Assembly, where he said that the new directors of Veliaj, who replaced the officials arrested for the "5D" file, were appointed by phone call from prison.

He emphasized that their appointments were dictated to the mayor and it was not Veliaj who chose them, as he claimed that the majority and the Municipality of Tirana operate as criminal organizations.

The company aims to carry out various activities in the field of publishing, art and culture, in the social field and in the educational and in the field of tourism.

Valbona Xoxa, Erion Veliaj's mother-in-law, in just 2 months of activity manages to earn over 20,000 euros from the business for 2021. But the 20 thousand euros were for two months of 2021, because the entity "AVA STUDIO" for 2022 manages to have a net profit of 110,000 euros.

The brilliance continues even further, clients and funds pouring in for Valbona Xoxa, who was surpassing even her daughter Ajola, who does not seem to be as successful in the field of art and culture as her mother and uncle, who they have annual profits of 100,000 euros with newly founded companies.
