The QSUT autoclave has not been working for months, it is out of order, leaving hospital waste untreated. A report by the show 'Stop' shows that this situation has been going on for months, becoming a health hazard.

The autoclave is supposed to treat hospital waste through steam sterilization. The show highlighted that there is also surgical waste, which contains various microbes.

This autoclave must process about 500 kg of hospital waste per day.

The QSUT Directorate, in a statement, states that the autoclave is working and waste incineration is continuing.

The two companies that have experience in this service, 'Loerma sh.pk' and 'Montal sh.pk', which worked until December, say they are no longer interested, as the equipment is old and unmaintained. /CNA
