Delirium, hiding from the truth. This is the behavior you will hear in this audio recording of Evi Kokalari.
We also have some other materials, where Ms. Evi Kokalari Angelakis speaks with journalist William Bredderman of "The Daily Beast", an interview that was conducted during the time of a writing in 2023 regarding the issue "Santos' "Best Friend" is a far-right activist linked to the disgraced prime minister of Albania".
To this day, after more than two years, Evi Kokalari has still not responded. Who paid for tens of thousands of dollars of Ms. Kokalari's trips and stays in the capital?
She can write and declare that she has no great obligation to make it public, but imagine someone who claims to be a lady leader, who is of great importance in President Trump's administration, who somewhere we can publish the messages that she is seeking employment, who somewhere else tells us that she is more important than Rama and Berisha in Albania, while the desert has a page on social networks that receives fewer "likes" than the pensioner in our neighborhood where we have the editorial office, who publishes a photo drinking her morning coffee, or has far fewer reactions than Professor Pilinci, who cannot surpass Evi Kokalari.
With an individual who deliriously claims to be more famous in Albania than Rama and Berisha, who through her posts thinks she is one of the most important and powerful people, with large spaces in the administration of President Donald Trump, who has dozens of lawsuits currently in court, who seeks to seize on a case filed by singer Bleona Qereti due to the slander and insults that have been made to the latter, justifying herself by saying that she is facing a well-thought-out media attack.
In fact, we haven't even had time to deal with Evi Kokalari, because it's not like she deserves any attention.
He has already reduced himself to Mero Baze's news, Erion Veliaj's media remnant, but when we come across such materials, we publish them, not for political reasons, because Evi Kokalari is not in politics.
He is simply an individual who shouts and screams to seem important, to keep himself alive, because maybe those Facebook statuses give him energy, but anyway, very soon, in addition to Bleona's lawsuits, there will be others in the US, even though the lady has edited and deleted many of the notes, they are notarized, preserved, and have already been taken to open processes in Albania.
It's simply a matter of time before the truth will delay, but it will not forget, even in the face of justice, as the lady in question claims.
But it is important to listen to this part of the conversation to understand the delirium of an individual who today, after four years of her activity behind Sali Berisha, has not been able to clarify the source of her income, who finances her to come to Tirana and lobby for Sali Berisha.
Beyond any discussion and stance, based on American law, Evi Kokalari has given her personal support to a "non grata" person.
Leaving aside political debates, Sali Berisha at the time when Evi Kokalari came and supported him was a "non grata" person, although she is not a state official who has any responsibility, she is an individual who chooses to go somewhere, to support him, but she is an American citizen, who must declare where she found the money to find the "non grata".
Did Sali Berisha's people, the "non grata" Evi Kokalari, finance it? This is the question that Evi has not answered. Here is the essence of the interview that the journalist wanted to do, this information he wanted to get out, who paid you? Where did you find the money?
The answers that Evi does not give and will never give, but we will continue to bring out the truth today, tomorrow, day after day, without stopping, just as we did with the incinerator issue for which Evi Kokalari has publicly thanked us and we are grateful, but not for other issues when she sought information about certain businessmen, whom she later met, or for her interventions on who should become Secretary General of the DP and why Flamur Noka should be supported.
But these are political pieces that have no value for us as media, and we continue to ask a question that the American journalist has also asked.
What is the source of funding for tens of thousands of dollars in flights and stays in Tirana? What is the source of their income?
This question must be answered, nothing more than that, because Ms. Kokalari Angelakis has come out in public support of repeated political activities with a "persona non grata" and has still not clarified the financing.
Until he responds, we will continue to publish any investigative material we can provide, including audio recordings as in this case.
AUDIO RECORDING OF EVI KOKALARI WITH JOURNALIST WILLIAM BREDDERMAN
(*This is the audio recording of the interview by journalist William Bredderman with Evi Kokalari, which has parts that are still unclear, for which we have put dots)
Journalist William Bredderman: You wanted to get involved in national politics…….
Evi Kokalari: I just wanted to get involved in national politics and run for a seat in Congress at some point. That's all. There's nothing.
Journalist William Bredderman: Were there any disagreements?
Evi Kokalari: When I met Santos, he was a bad man, but I thought people would think I was doing it on purpose, because I was upset with him, and that's why I didn't take a step. If I had, I would have done a lot of people an honor, including the Republicans....
Journalist William Bredderman: (Inaudible) You've gone through several biographies of the fundraiser for the Emigrant Freedom Act, and I don't see any of them listed.
Evi Kokalari: They were registered, but I haven't done any activity. I haven't raised any funds. I haven't done anything. They have to be renewed at the Treasury branch, so you can't see them registered.
Journalist William Bredderman: Have you ever seen the law on fundraising?
Evi Kokalari: I didn't raise funds . I didn't have time to take it seriously.
Journalist William Bredderman: I took a look at your website and I see that it hasn't been updated in three years, but there are articles about you.
Evi Kokalari: Let me ask you, what is the purpose of this investigation because you are asking me questions as if you were from the IRS, (tax investigation office) or a state office for me to answer. I am answering you for the sake of clarity. I know who is hiding behind you. Who told you to do this. Because I know that I have done nothing wrong and my question is what is the purpose of your investigation?
Journalist William Bredderman: I have information linking you to George Santos.
Evi Kokalari: No way. You're referring to things about Albania that have nothing to do with George Santos.
Journalist William Bredderman: I searched for you, I investigated you, and after searching, I realized that you yourself are a person of interest……. mentions the scandal with Rama's government and the former FBI agent in New York, and there is an article about Senator Menendez in New Jersey, about the brother of a politician who has a special interest in Albania.
Evi Kokalari: Okay, I have no problem answering. While you're telling me these stories, I hope that people who hate Berisha aren't trying to trap me, because I would say go ask these people what their problem is with Berisha. The people who hate Berisha so much. You have to start there, what their problem is with Berisha has never been an issue for me. I've never seen them hate someone so much.
Secondly, in Albania they are killing the opposition, it has to do with Edi Rama and the pressure they were putting on the opposition through the FBI on the opposition leaders, not that the opposition leaders did nothing wrong. The former leader of the DP had a file on the FBI, there is a reason for this.
Journalist William Bredderman: …….Basha's efforts to establish connections with American political figures and authorities…….(sounds unclear).
Going back to January 2019, how are you sustaining yourself and these activities and what are your resources….
Evi Kokalari: This is my personal life. I will not explain the details, this is off topic. Half of the profit goes to the office and the rest goes to my personal life, there is nothing illegal.
Let me tell you something, if you've been investigating George Santos for a year, you should do an investigation like The New York Times, you can do better than that.
Journalist William Bredderman: How many people are there in your office who lobby?
Evi Kokalari: I won't answer this question either. I won't answer questions that you can manipulate in your favor.
Journalist William Bredderman: There's a point to all this lobbying.
Evi Kokalari: What is the issue?
Journalist William Bredderman: You are involved in political activities.
Evi Kokalari: Why is it illegal?
Journalist William Bredderman: I'm not saying you did anything illegal, but you emerged and rose very suddenly in the political arena and became a prominent figure very quickly, and how is it possible that you became such a well-known figure so quickly and spent months in Albania?
Evi Kokalari: I haven't spent a month in Albania. I've been there for a few weeks at intervals, for about 2 or 3 weeks, and before 2019 I was in Albania for 10 days, in 2006 for a week, and in 1998. So in 20 years I've been in Albania for about 20 days. If you think that politics in America has to do with Albania, you're wrong.
If this were true I would have been part of Basha's lobbying. I have fought Basha and his lobbying techniques for a long time. There was a file in the FBI for 500 thousand dollars, if you search on Google you can find it, there is an article about it.
This is the problem for me.
Secondly, I wouldn't lobby for another country or government because lobbying is the worst form of work you can do, especially in politics because it's complicated and you can get into trouble quickly before you know it, and I wouldn't get into trouble in America because I have a beautiful life, a personal life, a business life, a political life, and I have a lot of friends and I wouldn't get involved in something like that, but if I were lobbying for anyone in Albania, the fact that I'm against almost everyone in politics in Albania right now is why I have more support than anyone else, I'm telling the truth, I'm not taking money from anyone. I haven't taken money from anyone. And at their convention I said that I will not be part of their party, I am a free spirit, a free person and I want to continue to be free because in this way I can also be against Berisha whom I supported before as the leader of the opposition and such is the situation of the opposition in Albania in terms of business and investments I work in real estate I work long hours when I am in New York. I like to be involved in politics and I will stay in politics whether in Albania or America but I would not do anything that is against the law. You can continue to go into depth but be careful not to be encouraged by people who have their own goals and agendas.
Journalist William Bredderman: Thank you for your concern, were you involved in a transaction at 2015 Forth Street. In 2019, what is the address?
Evi Kokalari: I won't give details about this.
(Conversation is heard unclearly)
Journalist William Bredderman: I see that you are connected to registered property 3605, are there other properties that you are connected to?
Evi Kokalari: No
Journalist William Bredderman: Are these properties linked to Santos?
Evi Kokalari: I will not answer this question. I am sure that you have access to public data in databases like everyone else and I will not talk about this. I will not give information about things that you should not ask me about. It seems like you are investigating my entire life, I have to say something, opposition figures tried to do the same thing you are doing for a year and a half and they did not manage to find anything about me, starting from my childhood when I was 6 years old, from my friends, high school, everything, my travels, university here in America.
So do what you have to do. I have no problem, I want to make sure, you prove that everything you publish is true for everything you mention and nothing more.
Journalist William Bredderman: I believe we mentioned the biggest things.
Evi Kokalari: Absolutely, thank you very much./ CNA
