The prefect of the Tirana district, Afrim Qendro, spoke about the fire that destroyed warehouses in the used clothing market in the "5 Maji" neighborhood in Tirana.

The flames have reached gigantic proportions, while Qendro has announced that firefighters from Tirana and Kamza have been engaged to extinguish them. Regarding the cause of the flames, the prefect said that he will wait for experts for a legal assessment.

"We have a massive fire at the former Dinamo Factory. In a fairly large warehouse, 11 fire engines and 60 police forces are working. The entire Tirana and Kamza fire brigade are present. The municipality's water tankers are coming to supply water. We are trying to stop it from continuing to the end of the warehouse. And to protect the building. It is a large warehouse where several businesses operate. At the moment, there are clothes and other non-hazardous materials. They are working at maximum capacity, and firefighters from Elbasan, Vora and the army are also coming. They will help us with water supply. I am not talking about suspicions, it is the experts who will provide the legal assessment. There are no injured people. The forces of order have secured a perimeter. The fire is continuing, work is being done to stop it. It is a massive fire and it takes time ," said Prefect Qendro. /CNA
