Xhezmi Metushi, the chief of the Lushnje Fire Department, in an interview with the media, stated that 10 residents risked their lives as well as 3 employees of the fire department.

Metushi underlined that the cause of the fire has not been revealed, adding that the fire may have started from the fourth floor in a shoe store.

'Very difficult. It is a multi-storey building. We had a lot of difficulties. Together, the state stood up. Over 10 fire engines. About 10 residents risked their lives, but we evoked them in time. 3 firemen risked their lives. The cause has not yet emerged. We do not calculate damages. We think it may have come from the fourth floor. The premises of a shoe store. The building was on fire. There is no fireplace. I give them a guarantee", said Metushi.

Fire in Lushnje:

The "fight" with the flames that engulfed the shopping center in Lushnja lasted about 10 hours. 

Renea Forces, National Security Forces, Shqiponja Units, Armed Forces, services of the Lushnja Police Station and firefighters of several cities were engaged to take the situation under control.

The fire first fell on the second floor. By the time the situation was brought under control, the flames reignited on the fourth and top floor of the mall, which was completely gutted.

The flames also spread to the third floor and to the apartments located on the upper floors of the 12-story building near the shopping center. /CNA
