AKMC General Director, Haki Çako, shared this Wednesday details of the situation with the fires that have affected many areas of the country.

In an interview with CNA TV, Çako stated that work to extinguish fires from the ground and air has continued during this period.

Çako emphasized the difficulty of the situation due to high temperatures and assured that the main objective is the safety of life and citizens.

"I am in the center of the Skanderbeg administrative unit, where the operation has been ongoing for two days, we have managed to bring the flames under control through structures from the ground and from the air. It is clear that the months of July and August are the peak of temperatures. There have been criminal cases, where there have been no shortage of cases that have been investigated or are under investigation by the police and justice bodies. Sanctions, why not, even harsher against individuals who cause these fires, All interest goes to management, for the safety of life and citizens, which is absolutely the main objective of all state structures and institutions. The situation with people's lives has been at zero, except for the case in the village of Kullollas", said Çako.

Regarding the opposition's reactions to the fires, Çako did not spare the ironies.

"I have an answer for anyone who is an analyst, beyond the screens and cold glass or air conditioning, to discuss every sacrifice of every employee or individual of this operation. With the capacities, extraordinary forces have been engaged. We have had excellent cooperation with all our strategic EU partners, who have expressed their readiness for Albania.
