Fires lit in Vjosa National Park and in Lushnja / Two people arrested

Police have arrested two people who started fires, one near the Vjosa National Park and the other in the village of Dushk in Lushnja.

"The Crime Investigation Specialists of the Fier Police Commissariat arrested in flagrante delicto the citizen Sh. B., 61 years old, resident of the village of Cakran, for the criminal offenses "Destruction of property by fire" and "Damage to habitats in environmentally protected areas", after it is suspected that he started a fire in the Vjosa River valley, specifically in the place called "Mezarak", where as a result of the spread of the flames, a considerable area of land (field), 300 olive trees and various types of vegetation of the national park were burned.

The Crime Investigation Specialists of the Lushnja Police Commissariat arrested in flagrante delicto the citizen AK, 58 years old, resident of the village of Dushk, for the criminal offenses of "Destruction of property by fire" and "Opposition of an employee performing a state duty or a public service", after he is suspected of having started a fire on his land in the village of Dushk, where as a result of the spread of the flames, an area of land was burned.
