We verify the Italy-Albania agreement for practicality

Countries that are on the European route and respect the rules of the rule of law can become Germany's partners for asylum procedures.

The German Minister of the Interior, Nancy Faeser, has announced that the possibility of asylum procedures in third countries, which are located on the route to Europe and meet the standards of the rule of law, is being considered. In this context, the practicality of the Italy-Albania agreement is viewed by the German government.

In an interview with the German newspaper, "Welt am Sonntag", the German Minister of the Interior, Nancy Faeser, said that "there are experts who see such a regulation as possible, others say that the legislation should be changed for this. We we are looking at this very carefully. The criteria for us are human rights, how they are protected in the European jurisdiction and in our constitution."

As countries that may come into consideration, Faeser mentions "countries that are on the route to Europe and respect the rules of the rule of law."

Meanwhile, to speed up the asylum procedures, the Minister of the Interior, Faeser, has promised an additional 300 million euros. "We are strengthening the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees with 1,160 additional employees," Faeser told the German newspaper./ DW
