The General Prosecutor's Office announced in a statement that as of April 28, 2025, 14 criminal reports had been registered in connection with the May 11 parliamentary elections.
The cases are in Tirana, Fier, Saranda, Durrës, Elbasan and Gjirokastër.
The criminal offenses for which these proceedings have been registered are: “Obstruction of electoral subjects”, “Intentional damage to electoral material”, “Use of public office for political or electoral activity” and “Threat or violence against election participants”.

Parliamentary elections of May 11/ 14 criminal reports are registered in the prosecution offices with general jurisdiction. Cases in Tirana, Fier, Saranda, Durrës, Elbasan and Gjirokastër
In the context of informing the public about criminal offenses in the field of elections, the General Prosecutor's Office announces that in the Prosecutor's Offices at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction until 28.04.2025, a total of 14 criminal reports have been registered for the criminal offenses "Obstruction of electoral subjects", 'Intentional damage to electoral material', 'Use of public function for political or electoral activity' and 'Threat or violence against election participants', provided for respectively in Articles 325, 326/a, 328/a, 328 of the Criminal Code.
The sources of notification of criminal offenses for the registered reports were in 7 cases the judicial police, in 3 cases the Special Structure against Organized Crime and Corruption (SPAK), in 2 cases political entities, one case was initiated on its own, while in one case the source was a citizen.
From the reports it results that 5 of the above reports were registered in the Fier Prosecutor's Office, 3 in the Saranda Prosecutor's Office, 2 respectively in the Tirana and Gjirokastra Prosecutor's Offices and 1 case each in the Durrës and Elbasan Prosecutor's Offices.
From the reports filed until 28.04.2025, a total of 7 criminal proceedings have been registered for criminal offenses provided for by Articles 325, 326/a, 328/a and 329 of the Criminal Code.
Five proceedings have been registered at the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Fier, of which 2 proceedings for the criminal offense provided for by Article 325 of the Criminal Code, 1 proceeding for Article 328/a of the Criminal Code, 1 proceeding for Article 328/a, paragraph 4 of the Criminal Code and 1 proceeding for the criminal offense provided for by Article 328 of the Criminal Code.
While the other two criminal proceedings have been registered at the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Gjirokastra for criminal offenses provided for by articles 326/1 and 329/1 of the Criminal Code.
1 report from the Durrës Prosecutor's Office and one criminal proceeding from the Fier Prosecutor's Office have been sent to SPAK for jurisdiction. The other reports are in the verification phase./ CNA
