Today, September 5, is the Day of Sanctification of Mother Teresa, the great mother of the poor, winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, who never denied her origins. 

This day is an official holiday in Albania. 

On the day of her consecration, there was also a reaction from Prime Minister Edi Rama, who said: "Good morning and on this Consecration Day of the woman of peace in the world, the Albanian Mother Teresa, I wish you a beautiful day".

There was also a reaction from President Bajram Begaj. 

The head of state says in a post on social networks: "Today we celebrate the day dedicated to the holy Albanian daughter, Mother Teresa, an example of the power of the spirit and faith, with a life spent in dedication and service to the suffering. Her teachings remain an inspiration for every Albanian and all humanity".

Meanwhile, the Minister of Foreign Affairs writes on social networks: "It was a pleasure to welcome in Tirana the Finnish counterpart, Elina Valtonen. We discussed concrete steps to strengthen bilateral ties between our countries, especially in trade, investment and tourism, as well as the invitation for Finnish companies to invest in Albania. We exchanged views on the enlargement of the European Union and the integration of the Western Balkans. I expressed gratitude for Finland's steadfast support in this process. Albania remains committed to multilateral cooperation, especially with the presidency of the OSCE, next year.

Anjezë Gonxhe Bojaxhiu was born on August 26, 1910 and passed away on September 5, 1997. She was known as Mother Teresa of Calcutta, she was an Indian Catholic nun and missionary of Albanian origin.

He was born in Skopje, at that time the center of the Province of Kosovo in the Ottoman Empire. Living in her homeland for eighteen years, she moved to Ireland and then to India, where she lived most of her life.

Mother Teresa founded the Missionaries of Charity, a Catholic congregation which in 2012 had more than 4,500 sisters and was active in 133 countries. They provide homes for people who are dying of HIV/AIDS, leprosy and tuberculosis; they provide meals, mobile clinics, counseling programs for children and families, orphanages, and schools. Members must adhere to vows of "chastity, poverty, and obedience," as well as a fourth condition, to render "free and wholehearted service to the poorest of the poor."

Mother Teresa was a well-known merchant. She was co-owner of a construction firm in Skopje. Her company co-financed the project to build Skopje's first theater. She participated in the development of the railway line that connects Kosovo with Skopje, a project that she financed personally.

Mother Teresa has been honored with the highest awards and honors, including: the 1962 Ramon Magsaysay Peace Prize and the 1979 Nobel Peace Prize./CNA
