Pension scheme/ Minxhozi: Slowing growth rate, potential risk

The Deputy Governor of the Bank of Albania, Luljeta Minxhozi, spoke about the pension scheme in the Economy Committee.

Minxhozi raised concern about the slowdown in the pace of pension growth, saying it is a potential risk.

Further, Minxhozi underlined that it was specifically requested to review the pension scheme due to the new dynamics that the economy has had.

"The concern is very social. Specifically, we asked to review the pension scheme due to the new dynamics of the economy.

As far as we know, the Social Security institution is making a new strategy for the pension scheme, just like the EU countries.

We have raised the concern that the pension scheme is sustainable. We do not propose directions but we raise concerns and are ready to contribute. A potential risk is the slowing down of the rate of pension growth", said Minxhozi.

Regarding the devaluation of the Euro, Minxhozi said:

"The problem is the increase in the speed of devaluation, we are trying to propose a way to slow down the pace"./ CNA
