The 9-year "Ali Laçej" school in the city of Shkodra, which is one of the oldest schools in the northern city, has been surrounded for 30 years by piles of iron bars, bushes, and parked cars in front of its entrance yard, forcing students to enter the school from a side alley.

But, during an inspection of the school premises, Mayor Benet Beci issued an ultimatum that the yard in front of the school be vacated on Monday.

"The first task for us is to restore the school to its former glory. There should be no more of these strange things where the school is taken over, the yard is taken over, the entire school infrastructure is destroyed, the entrance is made through a back door as if in secret. 160 students are forced to make way for the usurper. The school door will be there along with some investments that we will make, we will start from the door, the yard, the walls, the system of white lines for entering and exiting and to create the safety of the students. This work, together with your internal commitment and that of the municipality, we have the opportunity to create both security and dignity for the students in a school where there is no wall there, the sink there, the bars there and they can make the entrance as it should be from the main door of the school."

The Territory Protection Inspectorate, the Municipal Police and the Services Company will intervene on Monday in the action of this space, which will be returned to the students and the school entrance will be returned to where it once was./ CNA
