Violations in the competition for the new director/ The RTSH Steering Council

Today at 11:30, the Committee on Education and Public Information will meet. During this meeting, a hearing will be held with members of the RTSH Steering Council where they will give an account regarding the violations of the procedures that were committed in the competition for the new General Director of the Albanian Public Television.

This session is expected to include discussions on the scandals that have involved this television station and the chairman of the Board of Directors, Leka Bungo.

We recall that CNA has denounced the successive scandals of Leka Bungo. CNA has published the contract between Leka Bungo and Alfred Peza, which openly shows the abuse committed by the chairman of the RTSH Steering Council.

Leka Bungo has violated the RTSH statute. The statute clearly states that the chairman of the RTSH Steering Council and members cannot receive funds from the institution.

The Chairman of the RTSH Steering Council has violated the law on Incompatibilities and Conflicts of Interest of Members of the RTSH Steering Council.

Leka Bungo has deceived the Parliament. CNA has published the video, which was made on November 13, 2024, where Leka Bungo speaks before the Media Committee in parliament. Leka Bungo lies, deceives the committee under oath. This man who talks about how he removed the directors deceives the committee and it is a video-fact because 11 months before speaking in this committee Leka Bungo signed the above document that we have shown with Alfred Peza, he received 4 million lek. Meanwhile, he says in parliament that I have not done any work for 2 and a half years.

Leka Bungo has forged the signature. On January 6, a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Albanian Public Radio and Television was held with several items on the agenda, one of which was the opening of the competition for the General Director of the institution after the vacancy created by the resignation of Alfred Peza.

Immediately after the meeting on January 6, CNA obtained documents through official channels.

Bungo left the meeting, there is also an audio recording that he was upset, there was also a conflict with the members of the Steering Committee, who voted and opened the race with a majority vote, Leka Bungo left and normally had nothing to sign, but it turns out that he has already signed the document of violation of the race even though he was not present and against it.

The same document was published once unsigned by Bungo, once signed by him, and another time it was written as missing.
