ICE: 1,874 Albanian immigrants have been ordered to be deported from the US

Under Title 8 of the U.S. Code, ICE may remove immigrants from the United States who are subject to final orders to remove them from the U.S. issued by an immigration judge.

ICE works to remove undocumented illegal immigrants from the United States after they are subject to timely final removal orders.

The U.S. government believes that every country is obligated to accept the return of its citizens and nationals who do not have the right to remain in the United States.

Lack of cooperation from the foreign government delays and in many cases hinders the removal process.

The U.S. requires foreign governments to take appropriate steps to confirm the citizenship of immigrants suspected of being their citizens, which includes conducting interviews, issuing travel documents in a timely manner, and physically accepting, returning their citizens on scheduled commercial or charter flights in accordance with ICE and/or foreign government guidelines.

Lack of cooperation from countries in accepting the return of their nationals could lead to the classification of these countries' ICEs as non-cooperative or at risk of non-compliance.

ICE considers 15 countries to be non-cooperative: Bhutan, Burma, Cuba, Democratic Republic of Congo, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Hong Kong, India, Iran, Laos, Pakistan, People's Republic of China, Russia, Somalia, and Venezuela.

ICE considers 11 countries as at risk for non-cooperation: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Gabon, Gambia, Iraq, Jamaica, Nicaragua, South Sudan, Saint Lucia and Vietnam./ CNA
