Rama: He came as a priest from Greece and will leave as Anastasius of Albania

Prime Minister Edi Rama delivered his speech at the final farewell ceremony of Archbishop Anastasios Janullatos.

The head of government shared one of Janullato's stories, which showed that when he was a child it was not enough for him to give something to God, but he had to give himself completely to God and live with his whole being with Christ.

"Archbishop Anastasios Janullatos completed his duty in service to the Orthodox believers of Albania.

From both a purely human and spiritual point of view, Janullatos' life was a fulfilled one, as through it a child's dream was realized. When I was a child, he said, it was not enough for me to give something to God, but I had to give myself completely to Him, I wanted my being to live with Christ.

"His work at the head of the church has been praised, honored, admired, blessed, and even anathemaed," Rama said.

Further, the Prime Minister said that Archbishop Anastasios came as a priest from Greece and left as Anastasios of Albania.

"Anastasius came as a priest from Greece and will leave as the Anastasius of Albania," Rama said.

Rama remembered the message:

"We did not go to Albania to establish a colony, but to build an autocephalous church of Albania. .." said Rama./ CNA
