The Charge d'Affaires at the US Embassy in Tirana, David Winser, has supported the opposition regarding the request for the establishment of Investigative Commissions, rejected by the majority.

During an interview with the media, Winser states that even the US Congress has debates and objections, but it has been proven that the investigations of the commissions have brought significant progress in politics and policies.

According to the diplomat, a range of tools are important to ensure democracies debate developments.

"Even our Congress has very energetic debates and sometimes full of contradictions, including through our investigative commissions. Our investigations have, in many cases, led to significant political and policy progress. As a general principle, legislative mechanisms take time and are difficult, but a range of tools are important to ensure that democracies debate developments," said Winser.

We remind you that for weeks, the opposition has started its protests in the Assembly after the majority rejected their demands for the establishment of Commissions of Inquiry for the concessions and data leaks of Albanians.

They have warned that there will be no stopping of the battle until the constitutional rights of the opposition are implemented./ CNA
