"Rrugorja" punishes drivers/ Dozens arrested, 28 vehicles blocked

Tirana Traffic Police have increased checks as we are at the peak of the tourist season.

"Rrugorja" has punished traffic violators by arresting dozens of drivers and blocking 28 vehicles.

"Increased presence of services and modern tools, 24/7, in the field, to prevent accidents, punish violations of road traffic rules and manage traffic."

In focus of controls:

-Improper parking that obstructs traffic in bicycle or assistive device lanes;

-Moving outside of dedicated lanes, with electric skates;

-Citizens who drive motorcycles without a protective helmet;

-Declaration of driving under the influence of alcohol;

-Notice of non-compliance with road signs.

As a result of continuous monitoring, over the last week:

-42 drivers arrested/prosecuted;

-28 vehicles blocked for various violations of the Highway Code.

Respect the traffic rules! They are for your life and the lives of others.

Cooperate with the Traffic Police, reporting any dangerous cases through official channels.
