Lightning strikes in Dardhas/ Herd of small cattle is hit

A herd of cattle was struck by lightning this Friday in the village of Derdush, Dardhas administrative unit, in the Municipality of Pogradec.

According to preliminary data, about 10 heads of small livestock have died, while 17 others have been damaged. 

The herd, consisting of about 190 sheep and goats, was migrating from the Pirg area to mountain pastures when it was struck by lightning.

Veterinary services have been dispatched to the scene to assess the condition of the surviving livestock and take the necessary measures.

Due to the lack of waves in the mountainous area, communication with shepherds and herd owners has been difficult. A final balance is expected after verifications on the ground./CNA
