The lawyer for the arrested mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, reacted a few minutes ago regarding the decision of the Administrative Court, regarding his ridiculous lawsuit against prosecutor Ols Dado.

Through a media release made by Plarent Ndreca, who himself is the defendant in the Criminal Court for abuse of tenders for the reconstruction of police stations during the period when Ndreca was Secretary General of the Ministry of Interior,

"It (the Administration) denied us effective access to court, arguing that Erion Veliaj and the Municipality of Tirana have no legitimate interest in seeking control of the legality of the appointment of a state official, who has directly interfered with their constitutional rights," the statement reads.

Today's position shows that Erion Veliaj sued prosecutor Ols Dado after he conducted the investigations, while Dado was appointed to the position in 2008 and passed the vetting in November 2022, being confirmed in office.

Veliaj was reminded of this issue precisely in 2025, when he was arrested, and not before Dado took his case under investigation.

The arrested mayor of Tirana, who has been in Durrës prison since his arrest on February 10, 2025, and who is facing 13 charges for 5 serious criminal offenses, has used all the schemes, scenarios and means to attack the prosecutor, starting from articles in the media paid for by him, to lobbying for reports filled with lies that have been exposed one after another. /CNA
