Kidnapping, execution and bundles of euros/ Footage of the SPAK-Antimafia operation in Bari published

Footage of the joint operation between the Special Prosecution Office and the Bari District Anti-Mafia Directorate (DDA) has been published.

This operation led to the unraveling of the murder of 26-year-old Italian Francesco Diviesi and the discovery of an Albanian criminal group involved in international drug trafficking and laundering of the proceeds of crime from Italy to Albania.

The video above shows footage from the evening of April 25, 2025, when Francesco Divisti was involved in a fight in a bar in Barletta and taken to a cave near an isolated area in the upper Murgia, in Casosa di Puglia. There, he was shot five times with two pistols and then set on fire inside several tires, with the aim of burning his body, according to a method used in the 1990s in the area.

As part of the operation, the GJKKO issued 10 personal security measures, while 5 others were issued by the Italian judicial authorities. These measures were imposed on 11 Albanian citizens, 4 Italians, (including 4 women, placed under house arrest and reporting obligation).

The measures were executed based on an international arrest warrant in Tirana, Fier, Vlora (Albania), in Barletta, in the prison of Rome and Agnani, (Italy) as well as in Madrid (Spain).

Meanwhile, as part of the operation, preventive seizure was ordered for 4 commercial companies, 8 vehicles, 10 bank accounts and the amount of 680,595 euros, which were seized by the State Police on November 14, 2024 at the Muriqani Border Crossing Point, following information received from the DIA Operational Center, Bari. /CNA
