Why did Veliaj lie about the people of the incinerators?

Mayor Erion Veliaj lied by denying his acquaintances with the people of the incinerators.

His lie was discovered after the day before, the group of experts, through a statement given by former Prime Minister Sali Berisha in a conference with journalists, made public, messages and photos where the mayor Veliaj was seen next to one of the main shareholders of the Tirana incinerator. After this denunciation with messages and photos that show the connections of the mayor with the people of the incinerators, experts told CNA that there are already other facts and evidence that prove the direct and indirect connections of the mayor Erion Veliaj and his close staff with the people of the incinerators. where not only work communications are included, but also important decisions with financial costs for the company which has been put at the service of the Municipality of Tirana.

The incinerator of Tirana, the affair of the century continues to be denounced with facts and evidence that show the strong links of corruption with politics, which go up to the highest institutions of justice.

Another case where this Veliaj is revealed to have lied about his acquaintance with the people of the incinerators are Veliaj's statements during the questionnaire in the Investigative Commission for the incinerators in 2022.

Asked by the chairman of the Investigative Commission at that time, Jorida Tabaku, whether he had contacts or had met with the people of the Veliaj incinerators, he denied this.

"I have not conducted any such discussion or trip. As I said, I am only known by the media about the trips of these characters with the head of foreign relations of the Democratic Party in Zimbabwe and I have seen those photographs so if this is called acquaintance I know them through the news of the officials of the Democratic Party to negotiate the contract in Zimbabwe", said Veliaj.

He stated the same thing about the former deputy Belind Kelliçi, but in the investigative commission for the incinerators, denying that he knows or has met Stela Gugalljan, Klodian Zoto or Mirel Mërtir.

" All my activities are public, I do weddings, funerals, I only do circumcisions.

So I meet hundreds of people. You asked me how you met them? I got to know them when I saw Gert Bogdan in Zimbabwe and I was blown away by this guy. I never met that guy again", said Veliaj.

On the other hand, the messages published by former Prime Minister Berisha show the communications between the people of the incinerators, Mirel Mërtir and Klodian Zotos, who seem to have been disappointed by Veliaj, since the latter had hidden their financing and had sold the construction of the nursery as his work.

These facts clearly show that Veliaj publicly lied to the Albanians. Although the mayor of Tirana said that in 2022 he did not know the people of the incinerators, it is proven that he has known them since 2019./ CNA
