Floods from heavy rains/ Evacuation order in Fier and Durrës

The Municipality of Fier has ordered the evacuation of residents in Ferras, Fier.

The announcement states that the municipality will provide shelter for residents due to heavy rainfall and flooding in the area.

The Municipality of Durrës has also ordered the evacuation of residents in Sukth and Katund ri, after water flooded homes.

OFFICIAL NOTICE FOR IMMEDIATE EVACUATION

In accordance with:
• Law No. 45/2019, “On Civil Protection”
• National Civil Emergency Plan
• Local Civil Emergency Plans,
as a result of the situation created by the floods and the immediate danger to the life and health of citizens, the immediate evacuation of the residents of:
Durrës Municipality,
Sukth Administrative Unit and Katund i Ri will be carried out.
The evacuation will be carried out through coordination with:
• National Civil Protection Agency (AKMC)
• Prefect of the relevant District
• Civil Emergency Structures in the municipality
According to the legislation in force, the Mayor is the authority responsible for ordering the evacuation in the territory of the municipality.
In any case, communication and requests for assistance should be addressed to public authorities on the ground.
Priority in the evacuation process is given to:
• Children
• Elderly
• People with disabilities
• Families in isolated areas
Transportation for the evacuation of residents will be provided by:
• Municipality vehicles
• Fire Protection and Rescue Service (MZSH)
• Armed Forces
MANAGEMENT OF EVACUATE HOUSING
Management of housing and assistance for evacuated citizens will be carried out by the Municipality, in cooperation with:
• State Police
• Healthcare units
• Social service structures, as needed
Within the framework of this process, the following will be provided:
• Registration of evacuees upon arrival at temporary shelter facilities
• Administration of basic needs, including food, clothing and medical assistance
• Provision of periodic information on the status of the situation and subsequent measures
This announcement is urgent and comes into effect immediately.
