"We predict economic growth"/ Malay: Public debt will be reduced by

Finance Minister Petrit Malaj has given details about the draft budget to the Economy Committee.

Malaj stated that the draft budget of 2025 has a surplus of 0.5 billion ALL. It is also expected to reduce the public debt by 55.8%.

Malaj emphasized that economic growth is expected. He underlined that the budget revenues will reach 754.6 billion ALL while he indicated that compared to August 2024 the revenues will increase by 40.6 billion ALL.

"It targets a surplus of ALL 0.5 billion. It reduces the public debt. For the year 2025, it will be reduced by 55.8%. It materializes the productive ratio of net receipt and capital of the local government. We predict economic growth of 3.9%. The risks remain balanced. The budget revenues will reach 754.6 billion ALL. Compared to August 2024 of revenues will increase by 40.6 billion lek more. Gross domestic product is expected to increase. Tax revenues are expected to increase by 26.3% of gross domestic product or 0.8% more compared to last year. Income from contributions and insurance social benefits are expected to reach 168.9 billion lek", said Malaj./ CNA
