Bad weather/Two flights expected to arrive in Rinas are diverted to Bari

Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, Belinda Balluku, has announced that due to bad weather, two flights that were expected to arrive at Rinas Airport have been diverted to Bari in Italy. 

In a post shared on social media, the minister stated that the reason for the diversion was bad weather. She also noted that due to these weather deviations, there may be delays in today's flights.

Over the last 24 hours, due to meteorological phenomena above and near Tirana International Airport, two of the flights arriving on the 5th, in the evening hours, have diverted to Bari, due to the inability to continue landing safely.

Even today, there have been localized meteorological phenomena in areas near the airport. Albcontrol staff have accommodated all requests from pilots to avoid these phenomena during flight phases. Due to these deviations caused by weather conditions, there may be delays in today's flights.

Albcontrol is closely monitoring the situation to ensure the safe provision of air navigation services. /CNA
