Heavy rainfall/ Here's how the situation is in 5 regions of the country

Heavy rainfall in recent hours has caused a problematic situation in several areas of the country.

The situation is more problematic in Lezha (105 mm of rainfall) and Shkodra, where there are flooded homes.

In the south, landslides have partially blocked national roads. Hydropower plants are working at full capacity to manage water levels.

Shkodra District

Intense rainfall. Flooding of homes of over 15 families in Malësi e Madhe; infrastructure damage in Kamicë.

The levels of the Buna and Drin rivers remain below the danger levels. Caution is recommended on the Bogë-Theth and Hani i Hotit-Vermosh axes.

Gjirokaster District

Rain and strong winds throughout the region. Problems on the Tepelena-Gjirokastër axis due to falling debris; one-way traffic.

Vlora Region

Light rain and winds. Temporary problems with electricity in the municipality of Finiq and some peripheral areas of Vlora. Drinking water supply and hydrological situation are normal.

Kukes District

High intensity rainfall throughout the territory. National roads are passable.

Lezha District

Intense rainfall (up to 105 mm in 24 hours). Flooding of homes, agricultural lands and schoolyards in several municipalities.

Drin River at critical levels, close to high risk level. Dams operating at maximum capacity; emergency structures on the ground
