Invited to the show "Kafe Shqeto" with journalist Flavio Qarri on Syri TV, Cultural Heritage expert Auron Tare raised the issues of managing archaeological sites and cultural monuments.

Tare states that there is a lack of restoration experts and a lack of management.

" In the main centers like Bylis, Apoloni there were groups of restoration specialists, in Gjirokastra there are no more because they either passed away or emigrated.

There is a lack of love for monuments.

We don't have a management school, they take an archaeologist and make him a director, like making an athlete a coach.

"The Berat Castle has two entrances and there are many tourists, many cars and trucks enter through the cobblestones, creating difficulties for tourists, this was a banal sight. We lack administration, which is the simplest thing ," said Tare.

 

Tare also raised the problem of Butrint's management and said that it should be done by Albanian institutions.

"AADF has no identity ties with us, but the most important heritage funds have been given to a foreign bank. Butrint should be managed by Albanians, Albanian institutions should be strengthened . "

For Tara, the construction of the Egnatia Highway is ridiculous.

" It irritates me that we make the eagle abroad but waste our identity by giving the main points to foreign funds.

The mayor was not to blame for the “Egnatia” road, but the Cultural Heritage Institute, they didn't know what that road was and said they had given the permit and they didn't have it in the inventory. We have become ridiculous and the specialists said in the Assembly that they had given the permit for asphalt.

"There are no studies on the cobblestone, but the moment it came out, the works had to be stopped," Tare declared./ CNA
