He punched a citizen who insulted his wife/ Police inspector in Patos suspended

A police inspector in Patos has been suspended after punching a citizen.

The inspector with the initials K.Gj. had hit a citizen four days ago at the Patos Police premises, after the latter had conflicted with several people in a market, where he had also insulted the inspector's wife, who is an employee at the business.

"The Police employee, Inspector K. Gj., assigned to the Operational Service Corps in the "Eagle" Special Force of the Fier Police Department, is suspended for violating Article 121, point 1, letter "m", "Committing actions that seriously harm the image of the Police employee, the institution or the police service as a whole", of Law No. 82/2024 "On the State Police".

On 21.02.2026, it is suspected that citizen K. Gj. hit an escorted citizen on the premises of the Patos Police Station, claiming that the escort had had a conflict in a market in Patos with several people and during the conflict, had insulted the wife of citizen K. Gj., who was an employee of the market.

"In addition to the administrative investigation being conducted by the Directorate of Professional Standards in the State Police, the Police Supervision Agency is continuing the criminal investigation against them," the announcement says. /CNA
