For three days in a row, the lake town will be the center of celebration, culinary, fishing and entertainment. This event is organized for the first time in Albania, raising the curtain from Pogradec, with the sole focus and purpose of conveying to visitors the old fishing tradition of this town. In addition to the many tourist attractions that the city has, fishing occupies a very important place for the economic development of the area, offering a variety of fish, as well as traditional dishes so preferred by Pogradecars and beyond.

Pogradeci was not chosen by chance for the organization of this festival. The well-known businessman Gjergj Luca, at the same time the organizer of this great event, has shown the reasons why Pogradeci was decided to develop this festival. Luca brings to attention two very interesting and important facts, giving the real values ??to this area.

"This is how all the cities of Albania should light up. This mayor motivated us with this reception, with these people, with these awards, with this love. This is how all mayors in Albania should behave. Pogradec has two things special for us. The first is that Pogradec is one of the oldest settlements in the world, 6000 years before Christ, the oldest in all of Europe in terms of lakes. And the second, NASA has said that it is a lake the oldest held in Europe. At that time, these two things tempted us to come to Pogradec, in addition to the hospitality that these people have given us. Thank you, what you do is very important, but go and catch the mayors of to those countries that do not establish these relations with business", he said.

Bledi Mane, the co-organizer of the festival, said that this festival has gathered fishermen from all areas of Albania, where fishing is a passion. All three nights of the festival will be full of surprises, big names of the Albanian scene, while gifts will also be given.

"For three consecutive nights, Pogradeci will be the home of fishermen who have gathered from all areas of Albania, where there are rivers, seas or lakes, where fishing is passion and love. Today is the first night, "Night of Nostalgia ", we have invited big names of the Albanian scene. On other nights there will be other surprises, comedians, it is also thought that every night there will be gifts. It is the beginning of a long journey, this festival will be also in other cities from south to north", he said.

"Kam rreth 22 vjet peshkatar. Peshqit kryesorë janë korani, belushka, krapi, që ne gjuajmë në përgjithësi. Klientët preferojnë më shumë koranin dhe belushkën, por edhe krapi e ngjala e liqenit tonë është shumë i mirë. Gatime tradicionale janë tava me koran, me krap, me ngjalë, këto preferohen më shumë. Jemi shumë të lumtur që bëhet festivali për herë të parë në qytetin tonë, gjë e bukur edhe për peshkatarët edhe për liqenin. Duhet të ketë më shumë aktivitete, sidomos për peshkimin. Rrethi jonë ka 40 peshkatarë, 40 varka ose mjete lundruese. Komplet territori jemi 200 varka. Nxjerrim një rrogë mesatare, mirë, sa mbajmë shtëpinë me bukë", tha ai.

Zona e Prespës është gjithashtu një nga zonat më të veçanta të juglindjes që ka shumë të zhvilluar peshkimin dhe gatimet tradicionale të ndryshme nga qytetet e tjera. Kryetari i Organizatës së Menaxhimit të Peshkimit Prespë, Kosta Trajçe, ka treguar se prodhimi vjetor në zonën e tij ka pësuar një rritje të madhe, ku 2 vite më parë arriti në 500 kuintalë krap, ndërsa pritet qe këtë vit të arrijë deri në 1 mijë kuintalë. Prespa ka një sërë gatimesh tradicionale, ku më i preferuari mbetet peshku cironë, i cili gatuhet nga të gjitha familjet e kësaj zone gjatë dimrit.

"Kjo është hera e parë që marrim pjesë si organizatë në këtë eveniment të rëndësishëm për peshkun e liqenit. Peshku tradicional i zonës së Prespës është krapi. Në Prespë para 2 vjetësh kapej një prodhim vjetor deri në 500 kuintal krap, kurse vjet arritëm 800, ndërsa deri më tani kemi 700 kuintalë, mendoj se do arrijmë deri në 1 mijë kuintalë peshk i cilësisë së lartë. Ky peshk tregtohet në Korçë dhe secili peshkatar shet prodhimin e tij. Turizmi familjar dhe lokalet që janë brenda zonës së Prespës, e përdorin peshkun e Prespës. Janë edhe lloje të tjera të peshqve si mërenka, i dyti pas krapit, dhe lloje të tjera ku Prespa zë gjithsej rreth 2 mijë kuintalë në vit. Kemi 42 subjekte, 84 peshkatarë që ushtrojnë këtë aktivitet. Gatimi me i mirë bëhet tava e Prespës, krapi i thatë, ushqimin më të preferuar zona e Prespës ka cironkën, s'ka familje që të mos mbajë rreth 50 kg cironë të thatë për dimër", tha ai.

Të ftuar specialë në natën e parë të festivalit ishin "Parodistët e Vlorës", shumë të dashur për publikun që i ka mirëpritur dhe duartrokitur gjatë gjithë performancës. Dy vlonjatët kanë treguar se rikthehen në Pogradec pas 32 vitesh nga hera e tyre e fundit, ndërsa freskia e bën akoma më të rehatshëm qëndrimin e tyre në këtë qytet. Ndër të tjera, dy artistët kërkojnë që i njëjti fëstival të organizohet edhe në Vlorë.
