The Council of Ministers, in the meeting held this Wednesday, December 20, 2023, has decided to release from office the prefect of the Fier District, Lefter Shehaj.
Shehaj's place has been taken by Rajmonda Balilaj.
The reasons for the dismissal of Lefter Shehaj are not known
The decision of the Council of Ministers states:
"THE RELEASE AND APPOINTMENT OF THE PREFECT OF THE FIER DISTRICT
In support of Articles 100 and 114 of the Constitution and Article 5 of Law No. 107/2016, "On the District Prefect", with the proposal of the Minister of the Interior, the Council of Ministers
DECIDE:
1. Mr. Lefter Shehaj, Prefect of Fier District, is released from this duty.
2. Mrs. Rajmonda Balilaj is appointed prefect of Fier District.
