SPAK Director/Gonzato: The Special Prosecution Office should be led by a person

EU Ambassador Silvio Gonzato was present at the joint meeting between the KLGJ and the KLP.

In his speech, Gonzato also spoke about the election of the new head of SPAK.

The EU Ambassador expressed confidence that the members of the KLP will show accountability at the highest level in the selection of the head of the Special Anti-Corruption Structure.

Further, Gonzato said that the members of the KLP will ensure that SPAK is led by a person of unquestionable integrity, professional and independent.

 

 

“ EU Ambassador Silvio Gonzato spoke at today’s joint meeting between the High Judicial Council and the High Prosecutorial Council, where ways to increase efficiency, quality and integrity in the justice system were discussed. He highlighted two issues that remain key for the judiciary: truly transparent evaluations and clear definition of responsibilities and standards for security in the courts.

"Ahead of tomorrow's election of the new head of SPAK, where Ambassador Gonzato will be present together with the ambassadors of EU member states, he expressed confidence that the members of the KLP will show the highest level of accountability and will ensure that the Special Prosecution Office is led by a person of unquestionable integrity, independent, professional and committed to the best EU standards ," the EU mission in Albania announced./CNA
