DP MP raises alarm: Presence of snakes in a school in Lushnja

Disturbing images have been made public from a school in the village of Thanë, Fiershegan administrative unit, in the Municipality of Lushnja, where the hygienic and sanitary conditions appear to be in a serious state and potentially dangerous for students.

The denunciation was made by MP Saimir Korreshi, who published footage from the school premises, showing the daily reality that children in this rural area face.

The MP has indicated that the toilets are substandard, without doors and windows, dilapidated and unusable under normal conditions. The situation is made even more alarming by reports of the presence of snakes in these facilities, which significantly increases the risk to the safety of students.

Also, the schoolyard appears filled with garbage, reflecting a significant lack of maintenance and investment in educational infrastructure.

In his response, Korreshi mocked the education reforms, highlighting the gap between official statements and the reality on the ground. “This is the situation that the villagers are facing… it is outrageous,” he says in the video.

The case has raised serious concerns and is seen as a wake-up call for responsible institutions, while highlighting the ongoing problems of conditions in rural schools in Albania, where the safety and dignity of students often remain compromised.
