Debate with judges/ Gjikondi: Rama is consuming artificial conflict, campaigning

A public debate has taken place between Prime Minister Edi Rama and the Judges' Association, with the latter demanding a salary increase while the prime minister opposes their request.

Lawyer Brizida Gjikondi reacted to this clash for CNA.

According to Gjikondi, the judges' request is a legal request oriented towards salary indexation as provided by the law.

Regarding Rama's position, Gjikondi says that he is consuming an artificial conflict that has more to do with reducing the authority of judges and their lynching by Albanians, which according to the lawyer will be of value to Rama when this justice has to do with him personally.

"I think it is a legal request oriented towards indexing salaries as the law provides. As for Mr. Rama, I think he is consuming an artificial conflict that has more to do with reducing the authority of judges and their lynching by Albanians, what will it be worth to him later when this justice has to do with him personally," said Gjikondi.

The lawyer further said that Rama has started a campaign against justice, which is denigrating, divisive and has serious moral and psychological consequences for Albanians.

Gjikondi underlined that Rama blatantly proved his insensitivity, arrogance, and disregard for the national interest for a value structure that is inherited across generations.

The lawyer added that very few public voices defend justice and this shows the infection and territory that evil has managed to conquer in Albanian public life.

"Currently, Mr. Rama has started a campaign against justice, denigrating, divisive and with serious moral and psychological consequences for Albanians. Blatantly proving his insensitivity, arrogance and disregard for the national interest for a value structure that is inherited for generations. Albania is currently in a deep moral crisis. Very few public voices defend justice and this shows the infection and territory that evil has managed to conquer in Albanian public life," said Gjikondi./ CNA
