44 vessels are blocked, fines over ALL 1 million for offenders

During this week, 44 vessels, which are 21 jet skis, 13 speedboats, 6 dinghies and 4 metal boats, have been blocked by checks at sea. 

Notice: 

Controls by the Border Police and the Marine Police Unit are intensified, along the entire coastline, lake areas, and river areas.

As a result of controls within the "Maritime Security" operation, during this week from Ksamil to Koman, 44 vessels were blocked.

Blocked vehicles: 21 jet skis, 13 speedboats, 6 dinghies and 4 metal boats.

 25 vessels have been blocked from Ksamil to Vlora.

13 vessels are blocked from Durrës to Shengjin.

6 vessels were blocked in Velipoja and Koman.

10 of the blocked vessels were found by the services of the Border Police and those of the Maritime Police Unit, sailing within the security perimeter, a violation that endangered the lives of holidaymakers. The drivers of these vehicles were each punished with an administrative measure of 100,000 to 120,000 new lek.

The drivers of 34 other vessels, in addition to the measure of blocking the means, were each punished with an administrative measure of 10,000 ALL for lack of documentation.

During this week, the Maritime Police Unit and the Border Police have provided assistance to tourists and visitors in 14 cases in the maritime space from Ksamil to Koman, in most cases their lives were in serious danger due to the breakdown of the vessels, or by not returning dot on the shore because of the waves.

The Border Police appeals to all users of watercraft to strictly implement the security perimeter for vacationers, the rules for the use of watercraft and to be equipped with lifesaving equipment, as well as to be vigilant during navigation.

At the same time, the Border Police invites vacationers to report any violation of the maritime security perimeter or security measures during tourist trips in coastal, lake and river areas, guaranteeing an immediate response./ CNA
