Microsoft announced its latest contribution to the artificial intelligence race.

At its developer conference this week, Microsoft hinted that the software could generate new avatars and voices or copy a user's existing appearance and speech, raising concerns that it could overpower the creation of deep, AI-generated video spoofing. events that did not happen.

Announced at Microsoft Ignite 2023, Azure AI Speech is trained on human images and allows users to enter a script that can then be "read" aloud by an AI-generated avatar.

Users can choose either a preloaded Microsoft avatar or upload images of a person whose voice and likeness they want to replicate. Microsoft said in a blog post published Wednesday that the tool can be used to build "conversational agents, virtual assistants, chatbots and more."
