'Grokipedia' is presented/ Encyclopedia generated by Artificial Intelligence with around 900 thousand articles

Elon Musk's artificial intelligence company, xAI, has unveiled 'Grokipedia'. The announcement says it is an encyclopedia generated by artificial intelligence to compete with Wikipedia.

The billionaire Tesla founder, who has long criticized Wikipedia for what he calls "editorial bias," previously described Grokipedia as a "more authentic and independent alternative."

Powered by Grok, xAI's chatbot trained on real-time data, the platform aims to reshape the way knowledge is created and shared online.

Grokipedia officially launched at grokipedia.com, although the debut was not without its problems. The site was initially launched on Monday afternoon, but was blocked within hours, before being brought back online later.

Early visitors reported seeing a minimalist homepage titled "Grokipedia v0.1" with a simple search bar.

At launch, the platform launched with 885,279 articles, although many early users said large portions appeared to have been adapted or copied directly from Wikipedia. /CNA
