OFFICIAL/ Cancelo returns to Barcelona

Portuguese defender Joao Cancelo has returned to the Barcelona team on loan from Arab club Al Hilal.

The news was made public at noon this Tuesday, after reaching an agreement between the two clubs until the end of the current season.

This is the second time that the 31-year-old will wear the Catalans' jersey, after the previous experience in the 2023-2024 season. During his first period in Spain, Cancelo recorded 42 appearances, scoring 4 goals and providing 5 assists.

The player will wear the number 2 shirt and is seen as an important reinforcement for coach Hansi Flick's plans. The signing ceremony took place at the club's offices in the presence of president Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco.

His experience on both sides of the defense is expected to help Barcelona in their goals for the championship title and the Champions League.
