Guardiola's successor is chosen, Manchester City's new coach is revealed

Enzo Maresca has signed a three-year contract with Manchester City and will be Pep Guardiola's successor on the English team's bench.

According to reports, the Italian coach's deal will keep him at the club until 2029 and he is also expected to have an important role in transfer decisions.

Maresca returns to City after previous experience on Guardiola's coaching staff. The Italian coach comes after a difficult period at Chelsea, where he was sacked due to poor results and disagreements with the management.

Before his London adventure, he managed Leicester City and then took charge of Chelsea for the 2024-25 season. With the London club, Maresca recorded 92 matches, achieving 55 wins, 16 draws and 21 losses.

 Pep Guardiola, at his farewell ceremony, stated that Manchester City will continue to function with stability even after his departure. The club has not yet publicly formalized the agreement with Maresca.
