The most expensive transfer in the club's history, Wirtz's figures for Liverpool revealed

Florian Wirtz will be a Liverpool player, after the English club reached an agreement with Bayer Leverkusen for the transfer of the attacking midfielder.

The deal has been closed for a total sum of 150 million euros, including bonuses, making this the most expensive transfer in the club's history from Anfield.

Liverpool had previously tried to lower the price, offering around 130 million euros, but in the end accepted the German club's request. The English club had previously reached an agreement with the player himself on personal terms.

A medical and a contract signing are now expected to make Wirtz's move official. The transfer comes as part of Liverpool's strategy to revamp their midfield. Florian Wirtz was one of the standout players of the Bundesliga season and was considered one of the most sought-after names in the transfer market. His move to Liverpool is expected to be finalized in the coming days.
